英語六級高頻重點詞匯的復習筆記

　　1. contrive v. 謀劃;圖謀;設法想到;

　　contrive to do sth. 設法做某事;(不顧困難地)促成某事

　　manage to do sth 也表示設法做某事，說的時候已經成功做到，而contrive to do sth

　　通常說的時候還沒有實行。

　　It was said that Osama bin Laden contrived to attack four cities of America

　　before he died.

　　據說本拉登死前計劃襲擊美國四個城市。

　　2. converge v. 會合;聚集;

　　converge on 集中于

　　The two rivers converge here.

　　兩條河流在此相交。

　　3. cordial a. 熱情的

　　cordial 的近義詞還有passionate，hospitable，enthusiastic 等。

　　The president received a cordial welcome on his visit in Canada.

　　總統(tǒng)在加拿大訪問期間受到了熱烈的歡迎。

　　4. corrupt a./v. 腐敗的;腐蝕;

　　The corrupt officials will be punished one day!

　　那些腐敗的官員總有一天會受到懲罰!

　　詞匯擴展：跟腐敗相關的詞匯~ corruption n. 貪污 bribe v. 行賄 accept /take bribe 受賄

　　5. cozy a. 舒適的

　　cozy 是美式拼法，cosy 是英式拼法，二者意思一樣，它的同義詞是comfortable。
